Usher Training Postponed

First, a big thank you to our wonderful team of almost 350 ushers who loyally support The Court Theatre with professionalism and enthusiasm - and especially for their outstanding efforts during the last few years as they faced the challenges Covid-19 has delivered.

Our ushers have shown enormous flexibility and understanding as the situation has evolved. The Covid environment continues to deliver new challenges and, with the postponement of upcoming shows and the suspension of Scared Scriptless performances for the foreseeable future, usher training - which was scheduled to start soon - has also been postponed.

The Theatre has taken into account the likely impact of the Omicron variant on audiences, cast, crew, ushers and staff and its incredibly transmissible nature.

Indications are that this period of extreme uncertainty is likely to last for some time. Audiences of up to 100 are not viable for the Theatre financially, especially when sickness or isolation of cast and crew are not just a possibility, but a probability.

We look forward to a time later this year when performances will be able to resume. Ushers will be updated when this looks likely and dates for usher refresher training and new usher training will be provided then. In the meantime they can take a well-deserved breather until our wonderful Court Theatre is at full speed again and then they can enjoy welcoming our many patrons back.
