Petra Laskova is the friendly face we have known for the last three years who has been seamlessly running the coffee bar.
About two months ago The Court Theatre was lucky to have Petra accept a well-deserved promotion to be our Food and Beverage Manager.
Petra is a remarkably multi-skilled woman. She has mastered many jobs over the years including working as a physiotherapist, a personal trainer, an administrator, a massage therapist, a Zumba instructor, and she even owned and ran her own Café in Christchurch city called Café Prague. It was during her time running this business when she made her first connection with The Court Theatre. She graciously became a sponsor of The Court and donated delicious morning teas from time to time.
Her vast previous experience and a passion for customer service over the years have prepared her for this new position at The Court. We have already seen her be a driving force to provide our audiences with the best quality food, options and services including getting the delights of freshly made barista coffee in-house.
Petra loves working with so many different people she quips “working with people is my destiny.” She also adores theatre and has a particular soft spot for musicals. Some of her stand-out shows that she has seen at The Court are Chicago, Jersey Boys and Jesus Christ Superstar. She notes that all theatre shows have their own unique ‘sparkle’ that leaves you feeling energized.
One of her favourite things about the new job is the opportunity to be inspired by the shows and pour her creativity into making specialized cocktails. She loves tackling any new challenge and has an air of enthusiasm for the potential opportunities ahead. She hopes to create an environment where her staff can have fun whilst still delivering a high standard of customer service.
Petra loves the family environment amongst the team at The Court Theatre, she feels that there is something really special and unique about this company.
Petra aspires to have our customers walking away feeling satisfied, happy and that they will never forget their experience at The Court Theatre.
It is safe to say we are in good and capable hands with Petra at the reins.
