Court Quiz by Pat Branthwaite

The Quizmaster and his helpers on the Quiz night

The long-awaited Quiz held in The Shed recently drew a goodly number of 17 teams. This popular event, held biennially and sponsored by the Friends, provided a platform for honesty, humour and some skullduggery.

Quizmaster David Winfield challenged the brains and memories of all the contestants with a varied selection of categories. The competition was fierce with some contestants questioning the accuracy of the markers in order to gain another point. After a very close finish, Smug Hermits proved to be the winners on the night and were rewarded accordingly.

An excellent selection of raffle prizes again tempted the punters with the major winner (popular ushers Elizabeth and Bill Glubb) being the recipients of a night for two at The George.

Thanks must go to the sponsors who provided the major prizes.

A pleasing profit from the night will go towards the Court funds and an excellent event provided great rapport among the guests.
