The design for the new Court Theatre is complete!
What a journey it has been; a true labour of love. There have been over a thousand meetings in the last two years, where the minutiae of every aspect of the new building have been examined and questioned. The whole process has been overseen by the world-renowned companies of Aithfield Architects and Haworth Tompkins, who are the world’s leading theatre architects.
Their designs have been refined by the expert practitioners that work here at The Court. The new theatre will contain a dedicated workshop and wardrobe and be home to all the designers and dedicated workers that go to make up The Court company. The theatre will also have a fully specified commercial kitchen to bring you, our faithful audience, the very best in hospitality.
A multitudinous set of documents will now go out to tender as the next leg of the journey is set to begin. Once a construction company has been found, and a course plotted through a demanding Covid environment, construction will begin on what will be the finest theatre in Aotearoa.
