Kia ora Court Friends
At The Court Theatre we are very pleased that we have passed the shortest day and we are heading towards spring. In this edition you will hear a lot about Frankenstein and why you need to book your tickets early so that you don’t miss out. As Annie has said, we’ve been having a year of sell-out sensations, and Frankenstein promises more of the same. When the rest of the world continues to struggle, we are very pleased to be able to offer this oasis to the people of Canterbury.
Back in April we celebrated our 50th Anniversary. Thanks to a number of very talented people, including Felicity Price and Derek Hargreaves, Cheryl Colley, Elric Hooper and Annie Bonifant, there is a wonderful book which we have for sale at our Box Office, full of interesting information and pictures. These sell for $30 per copy; do remember to pick one up if you haven’t already done so. They are a wonderful account of a wonderful history, with so many acknowledgements for people who have made The Court Theatre what it is today. A fun fact … the book was printed by Caxton – our longest running sponsor.
We continue to work full steam ahead on our new theatre in the City. The Expressions of Interest for the main building contractor have turned up four excellent companies who will vie for the tender later in the year. Its all going very, very well, and we can’t wait to be in our new home.
We look forward to seeing you again soon.
